One of my favorite examples of newsjacking involves Taylor Guitars, a company that reacted in real-time with a YouTube video response to songwriter Dave Carroll's "United Breaks Guitars" song that was getting loads of media coverage.

5. Big data
The big thing you need to know about big data is that there is an incredible amount of irrelevant and unstructured data concealing what may actually be valuable to you. To use big data for your digital marketing purposes you will need a data scientist with expertise in filtering and processing the data to gain insights.
